Singapore Discovery Centre

This weekend's destination is the Singapore Discovery Centre. We've got 5 complimentary tickets from my neighbour as she's working there. A bit far though, all the way to Boon Lay MRT and have to take bus 182 or 193 in. Nevertheless we reach there by 11am. Seems quite ordinary from the outside but we are unaware that excitements and thrills are waiting for us all inside. After collecting the tickets, we step straight into level 2. We passby this Theatre showing short homemade S'pore films. Didn't really finish it than we moved on to the next spot. Wow wee, loads of mega game station at this corner. Xavier paused for a moment at that corner to play. We took some pictures at the mean time. Next we are at this Reporter corner where the children took turns to speak on the microphone. The children also played at the stepping games and Building Your Dream Home section. Next floor we experience more on Racial Harmony, Total Defence, Mind Games, Learning the other races Dance and Speaking to Little George the Robot. At the exit was the Discovery Centre Souvenier shop. The children chose their presents from there, Xav & Sha a calculator clip and Shann a lightpen. The very friendly staff there serve the children very patiently and another even made scrulpture balloons for the children. Next station was the Shooting Gallery which Xavier and I tried on the machine gun and pistol. Very heavy leh! It's definately not easy to become a soldier I must say. Xavier was pestering to try on the Pedal Works so I bought 2 two tickets @ $2 each (15 mins ride) for me and him cause there's a height limit of 1.2m. We cycled quite fast initially but soon our energy wears off. We cycled an extra 5 mins complimentary from the Life Guard because there aren't any more passengers on queue. Very nice experience and most of all, Xavier enjoy it. We catch a movie at iWerks, S'pore 1st 3D movie theatre. But the children were terrified by the effect so we left after one show.

Pretty Quilt pieces, it's interesting small pieces of cloths can be sewn into such pretty pictures. Xavier's height exceeded 1.2m so he's permitted to play at the Shooting Gallery. He shoot at all the objects but missed all targets.

My pistol is very heavy unlike what it seems to weigh. My score 2, 7, 9; improving after 3 trials. Now I can aim quite well so better don't let me get a pistol on my hands. Hee hee...
